Do not buy this unless you know science. This is a curriculum that assumes the teacher knows all the things.The lessons are laundry lists of things to do and make sure kids know, they are NOT instruction manuals. You will be given lesson high points, but very little mechanics of HOW to hit the high points will be provided. So, for example, for the first lesson you should already know Atomic weight, isotopes and atomic numbers. I haven't looked at those in 30+ years...I could use an integrated refresher but that's not what this book does.The first lesson also assumes you know enough about Dalton to " in any way you can, convey the intrigue and excitement that Dalton's theory generated among scientists." That's the kind of instruction you'll get as the teacher. And you know what? I don't know enough about Dalton to do that. I don't have time to research it and become an expert in it either.If you have the time and want to use it to teach yourself all the science so you can implement the curriculum OR you're already a science person who likes figuring out a lecture for each lesson, go for it. Otherwise, this is nothing more than a reference book of limited utility and I suggest you look for elsewhere for your science curriculum.
